Very similar year to Dragon Lee with the super mega talent and lack of opportunities in CMLL. Except Dragon Lee atleast has NJPW. Will probably make my top 50 anyway though.

Soberano hits big flashy dives regularly, but his most impressive performance is simply being CMLL's newest young, flashy tecnico and not getting booed mercilessly by the crowd. The final of the Gran Alternativa tournament was a fantastic showcase for him, and he and Sanson were great again a few months later in the Rey del Inframundo match. Soberano has the big dives and decent selling and he vs. NGD can really develop in to a great feud. He also had that great match against Bandido in Colieso Coacalco. Both guys start out reversing each other's moves, with Bandido playing the local hero and Soberano as the visiting, cocky star. Then they start diving in to the crowd and mud (it was raining), putting on one of the wilder matches I have seen this year. His performance in the few matches I have seen are enough to get him into the middle/lower half of my list. Thecubsfan has several matches listed here I still need to check out. He could wind up much higher on my list if/when I do.

I have seen a few matches of his and have no idea what to do with him. Mostly cause he has the body of a total geek unlike Dragon Lee who is a certifiable sexy boy. Wasn't as high on the 6/16 match as some but he definitely can do some neat things. More interested in his development (read: when he gets on the juice) than him as a performer currently.

Stunned that a CMLL Bodybuidling Contest winner would be talked about this way.

He's been the CMLL (singular, it's actually the 3 Dinamitas) MVP in a down year and has the most great matches of anyone. As someone who watches the Friday show every week he's one of the only ones that has yet to let me down. He could be my highest ranking Luchador when it's all said and done, although he's obviously young. Great talent that could be special in a few years if CMLL doesn't waste him.
Would nominate his three singles matches vs. Sansón, Cometa, & Cavernario, as well as the 10/20 Trio with Angel de Oro & Niebla Roja vs The Dinamitas as must watch in addition to the matches listed as well as the Rey del Inframundo of which he was the star player.

Time and again a standout in tags and 6-mans, especially against various Dinamitas, who executes more consistently than CMLL's other high-flyers. Worth serious consideration, though hints of the annoying habits of luchadors whose names end with -istico apparent in his big singles matches prevent him from being a lock.
