NOMINATE: WALTER vs Timothy Thatcher PROGRESS Chapter 62 (01/28/2018)
Thatcher has one of my favorite selling performances of all-time. The brutality of the strikes in the match is an obvious draw, but, beyond that, Thatcher sold being overwhelmed and overmatched so perfectly in the first half of the match. The internal seethe of being dominated by a motivated WALTER hurts Thatcher more than any chop. The helplessness Thatcher expresses makes the hope spot of WALTER chopping the ring post and gaining vulnerability one of the best hope spots of all-time. Even though the WALTER ring post spot has already become a well-trodden staple of WALTER matches. My major complaint would just be the no-sold suplexes that seemed superfluous to the drama of the match. But I have rarely been as invested in a match as I was in this one.

WALTER vs Timothy Thatcher PROGRESS Chapter 62 (01/28/2018) - YES
Loved every aspect of this match. It felt like I was watching and actual fight, which isn't something I feel a lot when watch wrestling. After getting torn apart by chops, Thatcher starts trying to work the chopping hand, which WALTER sells and then eventually switches to chopping Thatcher with the other arm. The false finishes were done perfectly and by the end Thatcher looked like he was part hamburger meat. One of the most brutal matches I've seen in the last few years.

Probably the best Tim Thatcher match I've ever seen. Thatcher weathering the storm and finding his opening almost feels deliberate, like he knows what he's in for and decides to try and not force anything. It's a really cool approach.
