Booking issues in going over Hiromu Takahashi aside, KUSHIDA remains one of the best technical wrestlers and high-fliers in the world. The aforementioned Hiromu feud is among the year's best, with the second match being the best sprint this year and the final match being a top 10-15 contender. His BOSJ run wasn't the most consistent, but he had good to great matches with BUSHI, Taguchi, and Volador before the barn burner of a finale with Ospreay. A good run in the WCPW World Cup and an awesome title defense against Desperado secure him a comfortable spot in the top 10. The only criticism I'd throw his way is his tendency to work the leg over in main event matches to no consequence simply to kill time.

I'm still catching up on the BOSJ, so I've missed most of his stuff since the amazing sprint with Hiromu at Sakura Genesis, but the performance he had with Kenny King last Friday was amazing. It was one of the best one man shows I've ever seen.

I've always like KUSHIDA but this year, I fell in love with him. I loved the redemption story he had after Sakura Genesis, throughout the BOSJ, then ending in Dominion. I got legit chills after watching his match in BOSJ Finals because it was a great match but also him going into the crowd and celebrating. That is one of the few genuine moments that just makes feel good in wrestling. Since then, he's been there but I haven't seen his WCPW stuff, the Despy match and the latest KOPW match. I enjoyed his ROH TV title match with Jay White so he will be at least in the top half of my list.
