Hoping to trigger the artist formerly known as Fray here. Had a very good start to the year hasn't been as hot in the second half, but I did think the Riddle match from Progress was excellent, as was the James Drake match from PWX and the Eddie Kingston match from AAW. Lots of other good stuff littered about to. I prefer him in sprints, but I don't mind a psych heavy performance from him and I actually thought the Thatcher match from San Antonio was good when most hated it.

The quintessential **1/4 match performer. Have only seen him in one good match and that's the San Antonio tag with Thatcher.
No way he comes close to sniffing my Top 100.
Wouldn't even make my Top 300.
Quite frankly, I want to make a list of 500 wrestlers in 2017 that are better than JEff Cobb.

When watching Jeff Cobb I'm either one of two ways; super invested and interested or bored out of my mind. I liked his match with with Matt Riddle and Pete Dunne SSS16 weekend, but mediocre performances against the likes of Fred Yehi and 2 bad ones with Riddle will likely keep him off my list.

I haven't seen a lot of his stuff, but that's because whenever I have watched him, I'm never interested in watching him again

If you don't pay attention to EVOLVE, who does anymore, he has three wonderful matches on the Highspots Wrestling Network against David Starr, aka Mr.#1WOTY, from Wrestling Revolver, James Drake from PWX, and Eddie Kingston from AAW. Hard to say he was my favorite part of any of those matches though so I do see a whole there.
There is also his two matches from wXw's AMBITION, their annual shoot style tournament during 16 Carat Weekend. The match against Walter is a true blue hoot. Super short but big dudes throwing big dudes. Cobb unfortunately doesn't get a ton of opportunities to just do crazy feats of strengths against people. Then there is the Thatcher match which if wasn't for Walter vs. Starr on N1, it would probably be my MOTWeekend.

Cobb/Thatcher vs Yehi/Hot Sauce is crazy underrated, and Cobb is really good in it. I really enjoyed his PROGRESS run, with the Riddle match obviously being a MOTYC level match and the Dunne match also being pretty great. Both of his AMBITION matches were awesome. Even despite all that though, he will be a tail end guy at best. He's just had too many straight up bad performances. He's the type of guy who really needs a hot opponent or a unique situation, because a straight up indie style match with him is almost always boring.

What are the bad Cobb performances this year? All of his EVOLVE stuff besides the two San Antonio matches have been straight up meh to me. Also didn't like the Mark Andrews match from PROGRESS Boston or any of his PWG stuff besides the Trent match. I actually think I'm higher on him generally than most, but he just doesn't perform great in the promotions I wach a lot of. I do still have to see that Martin Stone match though.

I think Cobb has had a hell of a year and that’s without seeing any LU. Loved the stuff from Rumble weekend, AMBITION run was fantastic, Chosen Bros have developed in a super solid team with the ReDRagon match being their best one so far, real good match with Speedball at RevPro too.

I really liked this dumbass, hoss spotfest in The Crash for the dumbass, hoss spotfest that it is. Outside of LU (which doesn't count) and the Glory Pro 3-way match, I can't think of any other Jeff Cobb matches from this year. Part of this is because I don't watch much EVOLVE or PWG. I'll try to go back and catch up on some of the matches mentioned in this thread, as I generally like Cobb but at this point it looks like he will miss my list. Here's the Tijuana match I liked a lot: www.youtube.com/watch?v=onngrj9Z1a0

There haven't been a lot of Cobb matches that have stood out to me as *great* (aside from his work in the AMBITION tournament and some stuff with Riddle), but he's an easy lock for my list just based on volume.
