The Swerve is the Ace of Defy, is the champion of Wrestle Circus, CZW Champ & had the Hell of War matc- nvm was filmed a year ago, my R Truth on this one. Also had bangers vs Lio Rush & Matt Cross in Defy.

The Swerve is the Ace of Defy, is the champion of Wrestle Circus, CZW Champ & had the Hell of War match vs Dante Fox. I don`t care if that was filmed a year ago, that match just aired and should put him into contention. Also had bangers vs Lio Rush & Matt Cross in Defy. You should not be considering that match in his case. Anyone who does so is doing so against the spirit of the list.

Even taking out the Fox Hell of War match, he's had a hell of a breakout this year. Really exciting to watch.

Has fallen off hard for me this year compared to the end of 2016. After seeing a number of quietly good matches in 2016 that led to a crescendo with the wXw Tag League finals, I thought Strickland had finally turned the corner and actually become real good. But in 2017, with match after match after match after match of the same uninteresting, ham-fisted highspots that are sloppy just as much as not, I can't with good conscience have this guy anywhere near my top 100. After seeing all his stuff so far from PWG, CZW, AAW, and PROGRESS, there's not a lot left to build a case on for me. Even if he managed to be the best guy in Wrestle Circus I'm not sure if that means much. I'll give his UK stuff a shot since a lot of it looks interesting but those six man tags sound absolutely insufferable. I'll probably give his Hall of Fame Classic matches a shot too, but unless all this stuff I listed is blow-away stuff, there's no way Strickland's making my list.
For what it's worth, the CZW title defense against MASADA is easily my worst match of the year. Doubt that changes.

I kind of get why people might not like Strickland but I absolutely love when he works that verging-on-too-cooperative mat style and he did just that against Hakim Zane in Glory Pro on Sunday and it was great.

He has a lot of hidden gems around the year, and this is coming from someone who doesn't always love him. His match with Callihan against SPPT is probably the best indieriffic tag match of that type from this year, but his other PROGRESS appearance against Mark Andrews is very very underrated. He's very good in RevPro, but being saddled with Ryan "not making anyone's ballot" Smile really hurts him. Lucha Forever isn't very good but he had two fun matches there too.

Tanner said he was bad so that means he is actually bad.

I actually thought that was the worst match on the show by a pretty large margin Shane Strickland matches are worked exclusively for the pleasure of pot-smoking Chaka Khan fans, so yeah that makes sense.

He’ll make my list but man, he just hasn’t taken the leap that I️ thought he would based off last year in terms of in ring development. That being said he still has matches I️ would call great against AR Fox and Omari, is solid fun for the most part when he shows up, I️ just expected a better output this year.
