Definitely a vanity pick on some level, but like, this guy's still got it. Even at 40 years old, over a decade after the injury that basically ended his career as a top level wrestler, my man Homicide's putting on some of the most enjoyable wrestling I've seen in 2017. The January tag team cage match in AAW had bad news written all over it but he and King made it work. The KTB match in GCW is a swell little "veteran vs young monster" match. The AWE stuff, especially the Murder-1 matches, seem absolutely delightful from what little I've seen and heard. Like, watch this video of Dee trying to pull a street sign out of the ground to hit Murder with and later trying to coax drivers on the road they were just brawling on to swerve and hit him and tell me it's not incredible.
The big test, I think, is this wXw Tag League weekend we're in right now. With matches against Starr, Thatcher, WALTER, the Briscoes, and EYFBO, there's no way there's not at least two or three bouts in there that I'll end up loving. If they're great and not just good, and if the TPI and TNA stuff that I need to get around to seeing is also enjoyable, Homicide's going to find his way onto my list.
