Still the best old man wrestler in the world. Hurts my head that he still has so much fire and can still do a lot of athletic stuff. Impossible to leave off my list, since he's basically a lock to be captivating even in random shit trios matches.

The last two matches of that Universal Tournament in June (where he faced Dragon Lee then Volador) were some of the best matches I saw this year. Maybe 5 minutes total for the two of them, but amazingly fun sprints with Casas taking an absolutely insane bump in the Volador match. I'd like recommendations on other matches to check out from this year, as Casas is always great but seems mainly stuck in boring trios every week.

Yeah it was all on a Friday show. I like the Hechicero/Volador match from that show too.

I spent this afternoon watching the tournament matches and I'm pissed I didn't watch this earlier. Fun sprints all around. I screamed cause I thought Casas would stop taking the sunset flip powerbomb spot but nope. Old man still got it and it had me rooting for him instead of Volador. Will make my list somehow.

He's been kept primarily in trios matches and sprints, but boy is he still a joy to watch. His running seated senton from the apron is a thing of beauty and even more amazing considering he's 57. Warrants a spot on the list simply for being Negro Casas.

I saw him live here in Denver on Sunday, he was in a trios match with five local luchadores, just an amazing presence in a small setting. He was wrestling like a more mobile Gypsy Joe, just lighting up his opponents with chops and slaps, and putting on these nasty reverse headlock/choke things that felt like a cop about to kill a suspect. He finished with a casita which is amazingly athletic and fast looking live.

He's so freaking awesome. But just not enough opportunities this year.

Don't know what happened to his thread as I can't seem to find it. Anywho...
He's mostly been relegated to trios matches and has probably less than 10 singles matches that have made tape, but the old man has still got it. Really fun, violent stuff with Dragon Lee and a hell of a spring with Volador in the Campeon Universal tournament. Always adds excitement to even the most lifeless trios match and his running seated senton from the apron remains a thing of beauty.
