The break out star of Mania weekend, crazy to see how in the span of a year he went from working dark matches with Shane Taylor against the Get Along Gang, to having matches with Ricochet and Dijak that were probably two of the best 7 or 8 matches to occur anywhere in Orlando that weekend. Obviously the guy is the most impressive athlete in wrestling right now, but I also think it's worth reflecting on the ground he can cover. The Dijak series really is an all time great indie series and shouldn't be undersold, but I'm almost more impressed by watching him work a hoss bombfest multi-man in Evolve literally the same day Progress put him in with three flippy/speedy guys and effectively said "please save us from the sins of Darius Carter." I'm always amazed both by the power spots he can execute AND by the power spots he can take. The Sammy Guevara match from Inspire is one of the better big v. little story matches in quite a while, the Angelus Layne match from NOVA is perhaps the most shockingly effective/high degree of difficulty story match I've seen in indie wrestling in recent memory, he killed it against Elgin at Glory Pro in their hoss fight, and man that Riddle match from La Boom is good. I could watch his drop down rope running spot a thousand times and never get sick of it. Top 5 right now, maybe top 3

I need to watch more Keith Lee. Everyone probably does.
Dude so thicc he makes everyone go nuts. I don't know if Lee has that signature match quite yet. His series with Dijak is a "highlight" but doesn't appeal to me to the degree it does some others. Need to see matches like him against Guevara and Angelus Layne where it sounds like he works a match that goes beyond "I'm big and also super athletic". Lee can clearly do that. It is something that works for me far more live than on video. Those feats in person feel like I'm not in the real world anymore.
Definitely going to make my list. Wish he had the backing of visible promotion who booked him effectively.

Still need to catch up on his most recent Evolve stuff, but Keith Lee delivers every time he steps into the ring. A guy who does moves you'd expect from a cruiserweight yet can still project himself and fight like a big man. Keith Lee is the real deal. The Dijak matches are awesome spotfests and he has great big man performances against Sabre, Yehi, O'Reilly, Ricochet, and Riddle. Definite top half contender.

Possible number one contender. Can't think of a bad match he's had, and he's just piled up the ****+ matches for a bundle of promotions this year. He could lock it up if I get around to his PWG stuff.

The Callihan match from the last AAW show Highspots uploaded is great and sees him sell his leg effectively for half of the match. Finish is kind of horrifying. Right now I think my top three is Yehi, Riddle, Lee in that order, but anyone of them could rise or fall before the year is out.

He's one of the main guys in the running for my top overall spot right now. Probably the only thing keeping him out of my top spot is that I stopped watching Evolve for a bit earlier this year(which is also a problem I ran into with Fred Yehi), so I haven't been able to see as much of him as I have Walter, Dunne, and Riddle, who are my current top 3.

Loved loved loved Keith last year but 2017 is making me reconsider some things. Sure, he's still putting in great matches all over the place against all sorts of opponents. That Mania weekend Ricochet match has a scary chance of making it into my top 25 matches for the year or so. But the more I watched him in places like PWG and AAW, the more I saw a guy who I formerly thought managed to navigate mindless spotfests with poise and structure turn into a guy who stumbles into every pitfall of that style. The Dijak series certainly comes to mind in that regard, which is a shame considering how much I loved their first encounter. I definitely need to see more of his stuff outside of promotions that have a habit of bringing down good wrestlers, but as of this moment, I'm feeling wary about him.
Do have to mention that the Banks match from PROGRESS is very good. Like a lesser version of the 2016 John Silver match that I was over the moon about.

Seeing him live in April and again at the sauna also known as PROGRESS: NY made it clear that there really isn't a ceiling for him. I enjoyed what I had seen of him on video, but seeing what he does live was amazing. The tower of doom spot during the 4 way at PROGRESS was one of the nuttier spots I've seen live ever. Haven't seen enough of his stuff this year, but what I've seen has all been very good to great.

The Sammy Guevara match from Inspire Pro is a game changer for me. It sits for me as the marquee match on his resume. Something totally unique a match I doubt anyone else would be able to pull off. The range Lee shows in it is something else. Wrote a review for it on Wrestling Forum. Will go down as one of my favorite matches of the year and shoots him up from fringe top 30 to potential top 10 in a hurry. Recency bias be damned. www.wrestlingforum.com/70784929-post1790.htmlThe full show is on YouTube which has commentary and a little bit better looking.

The Sammy Guevara match is excellent. Concrete1992's review goes into better detail, but it is a great example of two guys incorporating character work into a wrestling match.
I really like Keith Lee but I don't watch much EVOLVE and does anybody even watch PWG(?), so I have not seen nearly enough of his matches this year. He is on my list to try to check out before the year's end, as I really like him whenever I do see him.
Is this the Matt Riddle match people like a lot?
