I am not sure I enjoyed watching anyone more this year than Bobby Roode. His presence continues to be off the charts, fantastic promos, really solid matches, helped turned around NXT for me when I had checked out after the Joe/Nakamura program. Him vs Roddy was one of my favorite storylines of the year, although I feel they could have maybe gotten more out of it. Absolutely gets sentimental bonus points from me as well for making it to the main roster.
Bobby Roode's 2017 is one of my favorite years for any wrestler over the past few years.

Only 10 matches that made tape so far this year, and most of them were pretty meh. I enjoyed the Roddy feud and I liked the Itami match more than anyone else, which helps. The Ohno match is solid too. But as an in-ring poll, he won't crack the top 100. The Nakamura matches are straight up bad and working English, Kanellis, and Ziggler aren't going to help him have a good match.

The first Nakamura match is among my best WWE matches of the year. I also loved the Itami match, and the first Strong match and the McIntyre match were both good. If he has a strong fall I think he could work himself up into the Top 12 or so of my list.

Roode continues to be a solid hand for the WWE and I'm looking forward to him making an impact on the main roster the rest of this year and into 2018

The first Nak match is legit great, almost certainly the best Roode match ever, and probably my favorite Nak match in the WWE. I could give a shit about the rest of that feud, but that first match was tremendous. THe Itami match stunk, but Itami isn't any good. I did like the Roddy stuff. Still I don't know. So much of what he does just feels like filler to me.

While he has two borderline great matches to his name (Nakamura at San Antonio and the rematch with Strong), the remainder of his few matches that made tape have been just average at best. Very good chance he just misses the cut. I'll give credit where it's due though: Roodes's 2017 has been a big step up from his awful 2016.

Remember in the build up to Roode/Nakamura when we all joked that the entrances would be great and then nothing would happen after them?
We were oh so very wrong.
Roode's been awesome this year. The 1st Nakamura match was an incredible experience live and the 2nd one, on tape, made me regret not going to the Takeover in Orlando.
He'll place in the Top 30 most likely.
Love Bobby Roode.

The Nakamura matches are massively underrated and are both high on my MOTY list. Roode completely won me over in 2017.

His NXT title run is pretty underrated given the quality work he did with Nakamura, Ohno, Itami and Strong. Nothing he's done on the main roster has come close to that, but he hasn't been positioned to be anything but a decent hand in the lower midcard. Since he's been positioned incredibly as a face, I wouldn't be shocked to see him starting something with Corbin in the lead up to the Rumble.
