My #WDKW100 spreadsheet basically ends up being a living, breathing document. It's constantly changing. Very few folks get a big lead. Very few hold on to it. Roman just moved into my #1 spot and I'm not sure anyone else catches up. The Cena match put him over the top. Loved, loved, loved that match. Had me jumping off my couch yelling. It's Roman's yard. Everyone else is playing catchup, baby. In 2017, Roman Reigns has done the following: - Had arguably Chris Jericho's best singles match of the year on Raw.
- Had Kevin Owens best match of the year and no one else has even been close.
- Had an incredible series of matches with Braun Strowman which have gotten better each time.
- Retired the Undertaker for shoot.
- Had arguably Finn Balor's best WWE match ever.
- More incredible TV matches with Seth Rollins, Bray Wyatt, and Samoa Joe
- Did nothing but put guys over on PPV, having only won THREE PPV matches all year.
- Made Jason Jordan look like a million dollars
- Had that Cena match.
Roman Reigns is the guy. And I suspect his resume will only keep growing.
What. A. Year.

The best wrestler in the world. No one is close this year for me. Has had multiple four star or better matches basically every month. Has my MOTY in the Fatal Four Way at SummerSlam. Maybe the TV match of the year with Finn Balor. Just a tremendous, tremendous year. Runaway #1.

I'm not quite as high on him as others, but it's hard to deny that this is his best in-ring year yet. Pre-Mania, he has the first Jericho match, the Owens match that could've been ****1/2+ with a real ending, the good Joe match, and Braun's first truly great match. Post-mania, he has a bunch of multi-mans where he sort of has to athletically carry the match, great matches with ice cold (at the time) guys like Joe, Rollins, and Wyatt, and Balor's best match of the year. Even this month he's doing great with a Jason Jordan feature type match and the Cena match that, while not amazing, was still a ****1/4 hoot and a half.
I didn't mention the Taker match since people hate it, but I actually like it more than most. The story worked for me even if the work didn't. Let's hope Roman gets a real opponent at Mania this year so he doesn't have a huge main event shitpile on his resume for the third year in a row. Since I'm anticipating more good stuff coming up, I'll go ahead and slot him right around #20.

Other than Braun, I feel like Reigns is the only wrestler with a clear case for best in the WWE. Arguably the best and most consistent TV worker this year and with the exception of Wrestlemania, I struggle to think of a ppv match that wasn't at least "very good". Those who criticize his "limited moveset" are really missing the point as to what makes a great wrestler. Everything he does on offense he makes count and is easily one of the best sellers in the business today. Very strong top 10 candidate.

Not sure where he is on mine but Definitely ahead of Kenny Omega so i'lI probably have Roman #3-4 - His Braun feud was $$$$$ and still can be. Looking forward to his Shield stuff. Wasn't as hot on the Cena match as others but thought the Undertaker match/feud was terrific. Excellent storyteller in the ring. Love to see him and Finn again.

I'm very confident Roman Reigns will be my #1 WWE guy. Tremendous singles matches versus Strowman, Owens, Balor, Rollins, Joe & Cena. Plus, he has been so good in the multi man matches he competed in. Fans are always at the edge of their seats.

He's someone I haven't thought about a lot this year because I am beyond sick of the topic, but he has had a very good year. I expect him to make my top 10, and if I get caught up on WWE PPVs maybe my top 5

Barring a sea change in the scoring system, I think he's favorite to win the poll: others might get more #1 votes but the vast majority of people (including me) will have him top ten. And I wouldn't hate that result. I agree it's been his been year in-ring: more consistent singles than in 2015, high-end matches against a wider range of workers than in 2016. I doubt I'll have him at #1 or #2 because of his reliance on finisher kickouts for drama — obviously this is a general complaint about current WWE main event style, but if we know that a super-duper finisher isn't going to put down the Big Dog then it's on him to build tension in other ways, and despite his superb selling he didn't manage to do that in the Cena match. Nevertheless, this is a problem that really only 2016 AJ found a way of working around, and just about everybody falls short of 2016 AJ (including 2017 AJ.) But perhaps 2018 Roman won't.

Needed a place to point out that I finally watched the Roman/Braun/Last Man Standing match and good lord that might be up there with the Ambulance Match as being my favorite match in the series. The Joe interference didn't even bother me.
Honestly, the match came across as the best of their house show brawls taken to the next level as they had all these extra weapons/gimmicks to work with that they normally wouldn't have available in Tulsa/Arlington/Tupelo/Grand Forks/etc.
And Michael Cole was incredible on the call here.
And remember, other than Fast Lane and the Australian tour, Roman Reigns has otherwise not beaten Braun Strowman when it mattered.
A great story being told!

Other than The Undertaker match which featured a guy who shouldn't have been wrestling and immediately had a hip replacement surgery after it was over, I can't think of a Roman match this year that didn't end up exceeding my expectations.
He's given a lot of guys their best singles match of the year like Kevin Owens (Royal Rumble) Finn Balor, Seth Rollins, Bray Wyatt, Jason Jordan (all on Raw) and Braun Strowman (Payback)
Couldn't see myself voting anyone else #1.
