G1 winner and nice feud with Tanahashi. Not as mind-blowingly awesome as he was last year but still my 4th favorite of the year and best NJPW character of the year.

Weird year for me, since I only really loved the first Tanahashi match, and wasn't as high on the Elgin match as most. Even that Ibushi spotfest I didn't adore.
Still, the Ishii matches for me are undeniable. Just super fun, no frills stuff. LIJ tags have carried the undercard this year and he was a part of a lot of those. The Omega match is the best match of the year for either guy, and just an incredible finale to the G1. Naito is so fucking fun to watch. Without a doubt, he'll be on the top half of my list.

His 2016 was so great that it overshadows a solid 2017. Will fall outside of my top 10 most likely, but still one of my favorite guys to watch.

Very strong top 5 finalist. While he may not have quite the peaks Okada and Omega have (though his are pretty damn high) his work in the LIJ tags really add volume to what has already been an excellent 2017. The Tanahashi, Ibushi, Omega, and Ishii matches certainly come to mind, but the Juice and Elgin IC title defenses (as bloated as the latter was) were great matches that have really flown under the radar.
