I was reluctant to start writing blurbs this early in the year, but after doing a first quarter list and coming up with a list 75 wrestlers, I figured at least discussing my top ten would be ok. Granted, with the next week ahead of us, much of this will likely change and change quickly.
As of now, Gargano is my number one wrestler. He's in my current MOTY (vs. Ricochet), has had notable matches across four separate brands (Raw, Smackdown, NXT and Evolve) and has looked good every time he has been in the ring. The mini DIY reunion produced two exceptional matches in NXT and some good stuff on the main roster as well. He's slowed down since Ciampa's injury, but I fully expect his match on Friday against Cole to continue his rock solid work. From there, I expect him to finally leave NXT for good (or for now) and show up somewhere on the main roster/main roster adjacent. His continued success is hardly guaranteed, but I have faith that he can overcome whatever odds are stacked against him.
