Tommy Dreamer protege isn't a gimmick I would think I would be into, but Richards has been so good this year. The build to the big title match with Lee was great with a nasty two match series with Joshua Cutshall, a great arena brawl with Arik Royal and an awesome match with Brad Attitude which Eric and I love more then anyone else. Then the kid gets his big shot with Lee and totally delivers a classic.

I'm not super into his character/look and when people were suggesting he might be the guy to beat Trevor Lee, I thought they were crazy. I do think his matches have mostly delivered though, with the Cutshall series standing out as very underappreciated. I do wish he had worked more PWX because I'd love to see what he would do against more typical indie guys.

Nick Richards is easily my favorite "CWF Guy", and what I mean by CWF Guy is basically a dude with a weird physique, who doesn't have what would be considered traditional charisma, but does have what I like to call that Carolina Charm. Nick has a goofy speech impediment, he gets fired up and stumbles over his words in much the same way he gets fired up in the ring and stumbles over his own feet. He throws weird forearm shots that resemble an untrained backyarder, but they are shots that land with a thud. He uses the out of nowhere cutter trope as well as anyone else in the world. He routinely fucks his own shit up doing sloppy dives and Cactus elbows from the apron. Nick Richards is a god damn treasure, and I will be shocked if I'm not the high vote on him.
