Keisuke "Better than Tomohiro" Ishii has carried the AJPW juniors division and has been a general highlight in DDT (although he should get more opportunities there).

His junior title reign was excellent and his biggest matches in DDT (vs. Irie & vs. Takeshita) have completely delivered. He's a pasty little nerd but guaranteed to be in my top 30.

Like a buzzsaw of action and violence, Ishii is easily one of the most exciting sprint wrestlers in the world. Whether it's 5 minutes (Atsushi Aoki), 12 minutes (Minoru Tanaka), 14 minutes (Koji Iwamoto), or nearly 20 minutes (Konosuke Takeshita), an Ishii match will never disappoint.

Only saw one match from him during the year, but it was the Takeshita KO-D title match that carved out a comfortable spot in the middle of my top 100 matches of the year and he was a huge part of that. When you're the dumpy-looking underdog who has to stand toe-to-toe with a specimen like Takeshita and not only survive his assault but turn it right back on him, you have to put in a good deal of effort and Ishii put in more than enough there. If I'd watched even two or three other matches of his throughout the year I'd probably have him on the lower end of my list.
