While I think he lacks that one "great" match this year, he's got loads of really good singles matches with Volador, Rush, Park, Atlantis, and Niebla Roja. Still incredibly agile and a great bumper for a guy his age.

I've only seen the LA Park singles match, but it was great. The finish is terrible, but I am so numb to bad finishes in lucha (especially in Monterrey) that I can overlook it. I've only got Ultimo Guerrero on my list 5 times, but 4 of the matches I have at 4* or higher. He's definitely not getting a lot of attention this year (probably because of CMLL booking), but he has been turning in some very solid performances. The tag match against Caristico & Soberano is easily a Top 10 match out of Mexico this year.

Aside from a rise in his car insurance premiums, it's been just another year for UG. As has been true for most of his career outside the Atlantis match, I've preferred him in tags (the tournament final against Volador Jr. was a indicative display of both of their sets of bad habits.) His temporary team with Valiente was fun and he and Caristico made for pretty funny bemused partners/spectators to the neverending Rush-Park feud in MDA.

Would heartily recommend his match with Wotan in Arena San Juan Pantitlan to what's already been mentioned.
