Davis is someone where if he turned up more I'd probably have him really high. I always forget about him, then he shows up, kills it, I think "why the fuck don't more people book Jon Davis?" and then he vanishes again. He was absolutely awesome in the 6 way at WWN Supershow this year, really managed to distinguish himself and come across as the equal or better of top Evolve guys which was not easy given where he is used. Enjoyed his FIP appearances too, and his Kincaid match from Atlanta Evolve show. The Dark City Fight Club v. Washington Bullets match from PCW is kind of overkill, but I still liked it. I might put him in my bottom five.

His match with Riddle on a Style Battle, I think, was cool. I always enjoy him.

Only saw two of his matches in 2017 but he was batting 1000 in both of 'em, even if he had a mixed bag of opponents. In the WWN six-way and FIP match against Martin Stone he established himself as one hell of a bruiser, an athlete with the brawn to bowl over people and the brain to know how to do it as he inches closer to 40. Wish he crossed my radar more in the year because I'd wholeheartedly include him on my list. Shit, I still might.
