I have a preliminary ranking right now with Mustafa Ali in the top 10. He's probably the best babyface on 205. Three great matches within a matter of weeks:
vs. Cedric Alexander (Jan. 23) vs. Jack Gallagher (Feb. 20) vs. Buddy Murphy (Mar. 6)
A couple more bangers in this tournament (because I think he's going to Wrestlemania) and lock him into a good feud during the summer and this guy is a lock for a high spot for me.

Right now I have Ali tied for 10th. Two years ago I voted him in my top 10 due to his work in Freelance, and I thought that once he seemed like a non major player in 205 that I'd be happy to just get him in my top 50. Very happy we have big match Mustafa back.

At the moment I have him around the 50-60 mark but that's more down to a lack of televised matches than his performances which I have enjoyed. I know promo work doesn't come into this, but I think he's been the best at them since this revamp and he's a babyface I really can get behind, hope he wins the title. I suspect his stock will rise with matches in the next month against Gulak and then either Alexander or Roddy at mania.
I didn't love the Gallagher match, it's good but perhaps a victim of HHH's need for these matches to go long for the sake of being long. I felt it got a bit repetitive at times with Gallagher's arm work. The shorter, snappier Buddy Murphy match with the surprise roll up finish did more for me than Ali being destroyed all match but still running through his closing stretch like any other match.

I imagine he will be in my top 30-35 by years end. My favorite cruiserweight on the roster by far, he can basically work well with everyone. My ideal dream for him is to also work with some " main roster" guys this year. I have high expectations for the rest of his matches in the tournament.

A tremendous worker and babyface, he's had a revelatory 2018 for those who watch 205 Live. The only less than "very good" highlight would probably be the Mania match with Cedric but it's hard to hold it against him with his work against Itami, Murphy and many others. Top 30, maybe higher by year's end.
