Just watched Darby Allin vs. Zack Sabre Jr. and while I plan on writing a more formal review, it is tremendous. Darby probably put more pieces together last year than I gave him credit for but that match, which was far from a one-man-show, puts Darby HIGH on that big board. One of the sole good traits of Jack Evans as a wrestler is the ability to get bent, and Darby has that going for him for sure. Gets absolutely wrecked on subs in such a good way. Can show-out in more spotfest oriented matches. That isn't a surprise but he keeps throwing wrinkles in when I see him.
Also, his back smash in the corner is one of my favorite moves going. Swift and violent.

Allin has three matches in my top 10 for the year (Sabre, WALTER, Riddle), and he is incredible in different ways in all of them. Maybe the greatest underdog wrestler of all time at this point (Rey was better overall of course, but for the specific match type of overmatched little guy pulling out upsets, I liked Allin more). Seems a mortal lock for my #1 at this point, barring an all timer Park performance at the Anniversary

Darby matches shred. I think he legit might be in my top 10 at this point and will likely stay there unless he gets hurt and misses a lot of time. Just a perfect underdog babyface that does absolutely bananas stuff. He's got multiple matches that could be indie match of the year (especially the ZSJ and WALTER matches) and there's nobody else I love seeing more in indie spotfest scramble matches.

Darby has a case that he's been the best wrestler in the world over the span of December 2016 through to now (August 2018). Not close for this year alone within the Anglosphere.

Darby's rising up my list pretty rapidly. I have him in the 30s at the moment and I love everything I've seen from him. He's pretty essential to my viewing of Evolve, especially now Riddle is gone.

Darby went from someone who I thought was generally overrated to someone who deserves to be treated as the top star in EVOLVE. Granted, many had to leave for him to be really be the only legitimate choice left that's not a WWE import. A top 50 guy whose rising on my list with each match I see of his.
