Currently in my top 10 and one of the major contenders for the top New Japan based wrestlers this year. He had a great G1 benefiting from being the B block this year with some high end stuff like against Omega and Ishii. He also has a lot of good stuff outside the G1 like his NJC match against sabre, the Lovers/Bucks match, and the main event of All In. Right now I see him staying in the 8th-12th range for me

Ibushi is an easy top 10 contender and honestly in the running for number 1 based on his singles and tag work. The Young Bucks match goes without saying but the Golden Lovers have arguably been one of the best tag teams in the world this year. And while the sequel at Dontaku disappointed, he gave Cody easily his best match ever at Wrestle Kingdom. Had a really good if brief run in the NJ Cup and was arguably the G1 MVP for the second straight year, made even more impressive by the sheer depth of the B Block. Whether or not he finishes at number 1 or even in the top 5 will depend on how the rest of the year goes considering he's a bit directionless at the moment, but an absolutely tremendous 2018 thus far.

He's a top 10 contender for sure. Great matches all throughout the year as both a singles and tag team wrestler. Don't think he had the best G1 this year but he was definitely up there. With Hiromu out, he's in contention for the top NJPW wrestler spot with Ishii and Tanahashi.

His G1 was phenomenal and his tag team work/multi man stuff has all been excellent. He may have more 4+ matches that I've seen than anyone else this year, but I probably can't put him number one simply because his positioning has kept him as a sidekick to the champ/runner up. A definite top 5 guy for me though.

Fringe top 10 guy at this point. The G1 cemented his position with matches that finally got over the great into the excellent. He's arguably the biggest reason I watch New Japan shows still and if he were given a slightly higher position on the card I'd appreciate the product a lot more. Probably won't have too many more chances to go up so it depends on who does what elsewhere.
