I looked back at the 2017 thread for him and it was one post which seems like a fair parallel to his 2017. This year is a completely different story. He's still been relying on gimmick matches (the Black match, the NA ladder match) and tag team/six man matches (like everyone else in it, he benefits greatly from the UE/BSS feud). But, he's shown enough in singles matches against Ricochet, Ohno and Burch amongst others that ignoring his obvious talent is impossible. Right now, he's in my top 30 and he could get as high as my top 20 depending how the rest of the year plays out.

Last year he didn't even sniff my list as he felt like the epitome of "just there", but this year I have no clue. Other than having good timing and execution, there's literally nothing about his game that I find remarkable. And yet, the guy just manages to have really good matches. He remains largely a non-factor in tag matches while Roderick and O'Reilly shine, but when it comes to singles matches he's managed to gel with just about everyone. Certainly not the star of any those matches, but the fact that he's never looked bad or even out of place certainly counts for something. Whether that something is a spot in the lower-half or a "close but no cigar" I have no idea.
