I had him pretty high last year mostly off of his pre-Bullet Club stuff. This year, he's been best when he's been more focussed and facing juniors in New Japan. The WK four way and his April match with Ospreay are both favorites of mine. On the flip side, the Okada match at All In was a big disappointment and he's probably my second least favorite multi man guy in the rotating Elite trios matches. Not quite sure where he'll end up, but definitely a lower number than last year.

Another wrestler who I really didn't like last year who's managed to acquit himself fairly well this year. He still has his moments of hamminess, but his series with Ospreay and matches with Hiromu and KUSHIDA proved he can be a very effective, sadistic heel when he focuses on stomping on someone's neck and not flapping his arms. His BOSJ run overall was pretty solid and while the Okada match disappointed I thought it was still a fairly decent showcase for him. May have enough to rank in the lower-half of the list.

My thing with Scurll is that there are just too many guys that do what he does in the ring at a higher and more consistent level. If he does sneak into the back 10 of my list it'll be because of a great couple of months on his part. The Ospreay match didn't strike the same chord with me as it did with many other people, and the WK match was more a product of the successes of the other three rather than Scurll. I see flashes with him every once and a while, but not near enough to justify being on my list.
