The top in ring guy on the main roster and the catalyst for many other main roster guys being on my list. He's also (by default due to Roman's illness) the top pushed face on Raw and if logic ruled WWE booking, he'd be in the title match at Mania this year. Biggest knock against him is he doesn't have an exemplary singles match to point to; instead, he's got a lot of great multi-man/tag/six man matches and a slew of very good singles matches. I know it's fashionable to downplay all main roster guys, but he's likely a top ten guy for me this year.

Have missed quite a bit due to being largely checked out on the TV product, but he's definitely stood out the most during a rather lackluster in-ring year for WWE. And for a guy who always thrived in tags and multi-man match settings, his improvement as a singles wrestler is quite tremendous. Once a guy who was the epitome of moves for the sake of moves, his selling and comebacks are far more logical and engaging. Arguable top 30 contender at least.

Very large mixed bag for seth this year. He had some really good stuff like the gauntlet and his feuds with Miz and Balor, but also had a lot of big matches flop hard, like the Ambrose match at TLC and the Iron Man. Have him in the 30s after thinking he had a real run at a top spot early

I feel like Seth had a very AJ Styles type of year, where nothing he did was particularly great (other than the Gauntlet match, which was probably the best in ring performance of the year on Raw, as damning with faint praise as that may be), but he rarely dropped below very good. The Ambrose feud was a miss, for reasons outside of his control, particularly as Ambrose felt extremely unmotivated this year, but other than that, Rollins was as safe a bet as anybody to have a good match every time he appeared on television. I've never been a particularly big fan of Rollins' crossfit wrestling style, but he performed at a very high level this year. I could easily see him emerge as a consensus candidate, much as Styles did last year.

If you were looking for high end, match of the year type stuff from Rollins, I don't think you're going to find it, aside from the Miz match at Backlash, which was excellent, excellent stuff and the tag match with Ambrose against Ziggler and McIntyre. Where I do think he excelled, and what ultimately put him at #1 on my ballot, was that everyone he worked with felt like they did their best stuff with him, be it the tremendous series of matches with Finn Balor early in the year, the Mania match and then Backlash match with Miz, Elias having one of, if not his best main roster singles match with Rollins on PPV, Dolph Ziggler having his best run of matches in a long, long time with Rollins, and even Mojo Rawley of all people having a good match with him on RAW. There were definite misses - the Ambrose feud as a whole, the infamous Iron Man match - but he got the best out of everyone he worked with, with numerous different opponents, and that's a testament to the kind of year he had in my opinion.
