The winner of the 2018 WDKW list and my first place vote from last year. Currently back on top of my list as of my writing this, although with a significantly smaller lead than he had at this point last year. So far he has the only 5 I've given out this year( vs. Pete Dunne at Takeover New York) and high level matches against Fenix and David Starr 16 Carat weekend and another very good match against Veit Muller earlier in the year. I still haven't seen any of his OTT matches this year, so I wouldn't be surprised if he tops my list once again at the end of 2019, but this year it's way more in question than last when WALTER was curb stomping everyone but Sabre by Mania weekend.

My overall viewing of WALTER certainly tapered off as he made NXTUK his main venue as it's the one WWE brand I have pretty much hand waved entirely (now, I've also done the same with 205 Live sadly), but when I've seen him, he's delivered, often in big ways. His match with Dunne in Brooklyn was my MOTY for about 24 hours before I saw Naito/Ibushi live. His match with Bate at Cardiff got the full five for me and I think his match with Kushida on NXT tv is best thing out of Kushida this year.
In all likelihood, once I start going back and going through the stuff I missed, more greatness will emerge and he may end up back in my top ten this year. As of now, he's a top 20 guy for sure.
