MLW, not a bad promotion. I won't lie, as long as Ki is keeping somewhat active I will probably find a spot for him on my list. Now, it might not always be the highest, and this year it feels hard to elevate him there, but he is too good wrestling a way I love too much.
I have seen a couple of absolute squash matches involving Ki now and I have not convinced myself that if those were the only matches he wouldn't be in at least my bottom ten. That's not all he has though. I enjoyed, if was slightly disappointed, by his match against Tom Lawlor earlier this year. His match against Timothy Thatcher though was a home run. Sort of the perfect "zero context needed" TV match? Which is to say it is one of the best matches of the year. Thatcher is having another phenomanal year but it never hurts to tie it up with one of the all-time greats in Ki.
