www.gq.com/story/jinder-mahal-wwe-real-life-diet?mbid=social_twitterIf I'm not the high vote on Jinder, there's a bigger fan of the New York office than myself and this seems very scary. Obviously, his body of work before WM is non-existent, BUT he's hand some certified bangers since then. The Orton program was very good. Would rank the Orton matches: - MITB
- Smackdown
- Backlash
- Background
And I've probably seen more of his house show matches in person with Nakamura and AJ Styles than anyone else here. The Chattanooga match with AJ was legitimately a great house show match. Really looking forward to that as a program on TV at some point down the road.
The Singh Brothers add a ton to the act, but that probably doesn't play a role much for the purposes of the WKDW 100.
He's #24 on my list.
Will definitely get a Most Improved vote from me for the WON Awards although no one is close to Braun Strowman in that regard.
All hail the Modern Day Maharaja.

I actually think his matches have mostly held together as semi-decent ** affairs because of the way they're put together. But I don't rate purely on a "star ratings=good" level. He's clearly a liability in the ring, and nothing he does is good. It's a shame because I think he has a look and charisma that's sorely needed on Smackdown. If he didn't have the Singh bros, this title reign would've been over in a week out of sheer embarrassment. He probably wouldn't make a top #300 list for me.

Jinder's fine. The Nakamura match at SummerSlam could have been good but they got 11 minutes and Jinder matches don't work at 11 minutes. The first two Orton matches were rock solid, but the Punjabi Prison stunk. His TV matches - Zayn, Orton, tag matches - have been fine. He'll be well towards the bottom of my list but he's okay.

Nakamura stinks, so it feels unfair to blame him for that regardless of whether or not you think he's any good. The AJ match in Chattanooga was a legit great, and I liked the first Orton match quite a bit. I also remember thinking he was fun in the match where he actually won the number one contendership. Most of the time I just sort of think he's there in the ring. At his best he can be a real throwback heel type in terms of controlling pace and actually working matches around *gasp* building heat, but at his worst he can sludge a match down to zilch and my eyes glaze over like Krispy Kreme's. In that regard I guess he's not unlike HHH, though I think we can all agree he's better than that aged fraud

The Money in the Bank match was the hottest and loudest wrestling crowd I have ever been in. If Jinder gets on my list that match is what did it for him.

Jinder's matches have been good not great. He's in the 50-75 range for me. His title run has been overshadowed by others yet he gets the main events at the PPVs.

When your peak is a "sort of OK" match with A.J. and one decent match with Orton surrounded by two stinkers, you don't have much of a shot.

Honestly his peak is a Chattanooga house show with AJ that I really loved

Jinder first came on the radar for me after a margarita at WM, I was steadily pushing the narrative that he was the guy since that point. He hasn't let me down.
Jinder will never be a guy that will win you over with his crisp ringwork but I do think he excels at having the intricacies of being a good old school heel down. He works his matches around heat, controls the pacing and takes bumps and sells well.
The highlight of this year has been his work with Nakamura, which has been okay from an in-ring standpoint and given that Nakamura is one of the absolute worst on the roster, it shows he can carry talents but from a heat perspective, it's been some of the best heel work in the WWE.

My 6th favorite this year. Had fan feedback going against him and delivered as best as he could. Best big champion in WWE this year as well.

I despise Nakamura coasting as much as the next guy, but come on. He was super overrated in NJPW, and him making the WON hall of fame was a joke, but if he gets a singles match at Mania it'll be better than any match Jinder has ever had in his career or his WWE 2K Career Mode. Calm down.

To quote Dylan, "What is this, a Top 3000 list?"

He's not making my list. The only match of his I thought wasn't bad this year was the MITB one, and if you take Orton beating up Harv and Gurv I don't know how much I even like that one.
