What a year for Braun Strowman.
Starts the year off with an excellent match on Raw with Sami Zayn.
The 2017 Royal Rumble was the Braun Strowman show for me and helped make that match one of my favorite Royal Rumble matches ever.
You've got the Roman Reigns and Big Show matches and programs. Each match gets better and better.
Maybe the only weak point this year was the Brock match and in no way was that his fault.
Absolutely a strong candidate for #1 on my ballot

Didn't like the Zayn stuff. Wasn't QUITE as high on the Roman stuff as others. Brock match fucking sucked. He's better in backstage segments than inside the ring. Sometimes I'd rather watch him interfere in a match than be in it. Yelling his entrance is often the highlight of his match. No performance as good as Survivor Series 2016.
All that being said, the Big Show stuff was awesome. Loved the Kalisto match. Love all the multi-man stuff. the Reigns matches are all good and it's an all time feud. He clearly tried in the Brock match and Brock didn't. He is a perfectly imperfect wrestler, and I can't take my eyes off him. Top 15 lock, and a very real top 5 contender.
Or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Braun

To add to his resume, he had a great match with Ambrose on monday and will probably get a good match out of Rollins next week.
He also tipped over an ambulance.....what's not to love.

Braun is WWE's MVP, their breakout star and up until Sunday I had no complaints about his 2017 which has been thoroughly entertaining, and likes previously mentioned, Sunday isn't down to him either. So many enjoyable matches with Sami, Big Show and Roman and he stole the show in his performances at the rumble and Summerslam main event.
The only thing I can count against him if I'm being harsh when I'm considering #1 contenders (which I should be), it's that Braun doesn't have a MOTYC, he's close to some, but I wouldn't have anything of his in a top 10 for the year worldwide.

His best match is probably that Summerslam main event, and he's definitely the MVP of it, but it is hard to make that his crowning jewel when all four guys were awesome in it.

I don't think it's a stretch to say Braun has had the best in-ring year of anyone in WWE. With the exception of No Mercy (which wasn't his fault), I can't think if a single bad match he's been in. And when you consider his peak performances against Reigns, Big Show, Cena, and the Summerslam main event, you have a potential top 10 candidate.

15th favorite of the year and his feud with Reigns is my feud of the year.

Not going to let the Brock match bring him down too much as he still looked good in the match (besides the finish), legit #1 contender for me and I would bet that he gets involved with the Reigns/Miz stuff (Shield vs Miz/Braun/Joe?) at TLC which will only add to his case.

I have him well behind Reigns but ahead of Joe and Styles among the main roster. Didn't hate the No Mercy match, but it was by far his biggest setback. It'll be fascinating to see how he responds -- it'll clarify whether he's a good worker who took advantage of great booking, or a long-term top ten guy who makes his own luck.

Strowman is easily in my Top 10, maybe even top 5. WWE tends to have really good ambulance matches and last man standing matches and Braun has had some of the best of all time this year. The mountain of words I typed about Pentagon apply equally well to Strowman.

Anyone that doesn't have Braun in at least their top 3 for WWE guys is clearly not watching the product and/or has an agenda of some sort.

The only people who even have a case for top WWE worker are probably Dunne, Reigns, Braun, Lorcan, and Asuka. Neville too, even if I don't buy it like a lot of other people. Braun came along at the perfect time, he stands out when a lot of other resumes have holes.

Admittedly I don't watch too much WWE stuff nowadays, but Braun is one of the few I make exceptions for. His standouts with Zayn/Big Show/Reigns have been amazing, with my favorite probably being the Ambulance match with Reigns. Despite how that Brock match turned out (which I don't put the weight of that failure on Braun), he'll likely be one of the few reasons I keep returning to WWE programming for the foreseeable future.

Top worker of the year, no.
Top wrestler/act of the year, he'd be my #1
Nothing on Braun for the Brock match. Brock forgot.
